Thinking of an Angel...

Don't cry over the past, it's gone. Don't stress about the future, it hasn't arrive. Live the present moment, make it beautiful.

A lot of time can be wasted thinking about what you could have changed in the past, and how things may be different now. Regrets, in my opinion, are one of the worst things that you can have as they not only affect your past but can affect your present and future too.  It's best in these cases, just to let things go.

The reason that I wrote this post is because recently, someone in my school died a very unexpected death. Not only has that shock the whole school but everyone one in my small village. It made us realise how what we have today can be gone tomorrow. It's important to think about how lucky you are and all the good things that you have in your life.

You don't want to look back on life when your 80 years old and think, 'Where did all those years go?' You want to think about all those amazing times you had with your friends and family and how much fun  you had and lucky you were. Lots of years can be wasted with regrets and worries. If you are going through a rough patch, just think, things can only get better in the future. Just keep on looking forward and don't look back.

My Favourite Inspirational Quotes in... Music

Hello Everyone, sorry its been a long time since my last blog post, its been a busy month. The last month has involved me visiting the wonderful country of Canada, so I'm sorry for the lack of posts, so lets get to it!

By far the most popular posts that I've done on my blog have been those that start with 'My Favourite Inspirational Quotes in...' and so today I thought that I would do a music edition. Personally, I'm more of a music person than a movie person as I feel that there's a lot more you can learn from song through the lyrics and the tune, just my personal opinion though!

Get up, stand up, Stand up for your rights. Get up, stand up, Don't give up the fight
- Bob Marley, Get Up Stand up

Bob Marley has definitely written some of the best feel-good songs for when your down, and so he never fails to lift my mood. This lyric can help all those that feel a lack of motivation in their lives. The song is all about standing up for what you truly believe in and dusting of your shoulders and trying again. Only by trying again and fighting for it will you get the things that you really want in life.

You may say that I'm a dreamer, But I'm not the only one, I hope someday you'll join us, And the world will be as one
- John Lennon, Imagine
Often when watching 'Best songs of all time' videos on MTV or something, this song often makes it to the top, its a classic. I love this song and its message. Looking at today's world, you see all this fighting, in Egypt, in Syria, in Iraq and so on. These people may be fighting for a reason that they truly believe in but sometimes it can be because of the most petty things. I like the idea of uniting this song brings and letting go of insignificant things and being 'as one'.

You have every right to a beautiful life.
- Selena Gomez, Who Says

Lets be honest, Selena Gomez is no musical genius, and to be fair I don't even know if she wrote this song but the message is great. At the end of the day, you are no different from anyone else and so, your dreams are not any less significant. You are living your life for yourself, and so aim to make your life exactly how you dreamt to be.

Take my hand and we'll make it - I swear
- Bon Jovi, Livin on a Prayer

I absolutely love this song, and it's not just because of the funky music. Sometimes in life you just need a little nudge to let you know that everything is going to be OK. You may be being going through a rough patch in life but its always good to remember that 'it can only get better.'

Love me or hate me, i swear it won't make or break me.
- Lil Wayne, Love me or Hate me

I don't really listen to rap music and only came across this lyric to see if there were any other inspirational music quotes that I may like to include in this post. There are many people in life that are going to judge you, whether it be at work, school or family and this can often get you feeling anxious and/ or upset. Sometimes, you have to be the bigger person and just ignore any negativity that you may receive, those people will eventually get bored and move on. You have to learn not to be affected by it all, for your own good.

I remember it now, it takes me back to when it all first started. But I've only got myself to blame for it, and I accept it now. It's time to let it go, go out and start again, but its not that easy
- Kodaline, High Hopes

Its easy to be wrapped up in all the sadness and unhappiness when you are going through a depressing period. If you keep dwelling on the past, on things you can't change you're not really helping yourself. Sometimes its best to let things go and have a fresh start even though it may not be easy like the song says.

A Bad Day...

'1 universe, 8 planets, 204 countries, 804 islands, 7 seas, 7 billion people. Don't let 1 ruin your day.'

Sometimes some bad news, bullying, a break-up, a fight or something else can completely consume you and you forget to think of anything other than that. I saw this quote the other day, on a day when I had been really upset about what someone I knew had done and how they had hurt me. But like the quote says, sometimes you need to put things into context.

There is no point having a down day JUST because of that one person who happened to ruin it. Your not doing yourself any favours, and in fact you are letting the other person win. Sometimes you need to step back and think, 'Am I going to let this insignificant person ruin a great day, or am I going to ignore it for my own well-being and not let it affect me?'

Obviously, in certain situations its not possible to ignore someone completely as sometimes things can happen that affect you deeply. Therefore, in those times I think its important to talk to those who are closest to you and who can help you get through a hard time. If you ever feel that you can't talk to someone you know, then you can always talk to me by emailing me. Just know that I am always willing to listen and help in any way I can.

My favourite Quotes and Advice...

Scare yourself a little bit every day. It will expand your inner map.
This is something I tell myself regularly, but sometimes the fear inside my brain takes over. By doing something that scares you, or something that you wouldn't usually do, you can learn a lot about self. Sometimes you just need to stop and think, "What's the worst that can happen?" You're not going to die, unless you do something really stupid! Sometimes you just need to let your worries go and put things into perspective.

Twitter followers don’t keep you warm at night.
I absolutely love this quote. This what I feel like telling all those who obsess over how many followers, friends, subscribers etc. they have. In my opinion it is important that you have those few close friends and family who you actually care about. How many of those followers do people actually talk to? Life is not a popularity contest, its more important that you are happy as a person.

Don’t take anything personally, ever
This is something that I really need to do, I take things too seriously. It important to not take things personally sometimes and just let things go.

Sir Richard Branson: 'My mother, Eve, always taught me never to look back in regret but to move on to the next thing. A setback is never a bad experience, just another one of life’s lessons.'
I will be referring back to this after I receive my A-Level results and fail! I totally believe that there's always something positive waiting around the corner. If something bad happens, things can only get better. Its important to take in what you learnt from the bad experience so you know for next time.

"Whenever you meet anybody, look for something nice to say about them, because even if they've got a hideous face they might have fantastic ankles or lovely hair, and compliments do cheer people up enormously.”
I think its important to see the best in everyone. All people have good qualities, its only some people who attempt to even get to know someone. Its also important to not spread negativity, as if you show a positive, friendly attitude towards someone, they're likely to be nice back.

“Everything matters, but nothing matters that much.”
Life isn't worth living if you dwell on things. You may have a set back in life, but you shouldn't let that affect the rest of your life. If things don't go your way, then sometimes you should just let it go.

When you look back on your life, you will regret only what you didn’t do. If you’re unsure, ask yourself “why not?”

I don't want to miss out on things life and regret them later on, when I'm old and it's too late. I saying 'yes' to different possibilities so when I look back, I can say that I had a fantastic time.

Actually write on your blog. Nobody cares if it’s hard.
Writing a blog is a recent thing for me, I've never done it before. I see how people regularly write things on the their blog and I always think that they have something their, permanently where they can see all the things the did before and how the grew as a person. I want to document my life too so I can look back at all the great memories I had.
